I don't usually write these anymore

 Because nothing really happens in my life. But lately things have been happening with my friend.

She just got pregnant two months ago and found out officially like.... three weeks ago. So I've been supporting her and she had decided to keep it. Her boyfriend was staying with her and they were both kind of excited to have a baby, even if they're both under 18. She kept calling it the little sea monkey. We kept watching little videos of women giving birth and staying up to date with how the baby was supposed to be developing. I would text her, "Welcome to week 9!" "Welcome to week 10.... 11...."

Then last night happened. I was having a hard time getting to sleep because I had homework to do, so I was up until midnight knowing I had to get up early. I finally got into bed to sleep when my phone rang. It was Abi. (pregnant friend mentioned above) So I talk to her and she had been having slight cramps and bleeding, and couldn't get to sleep either.

I suddenly got worried. I looked it up online and it was most likely old blood, since she said it was brown. So I was crossing my fingers for her.

This morning we were texting each other and she said she was fine. Then around noon, I text her and she said it was hurting and bleeding a lot more. Her mom was on her way and she was gonna go to the hospital.

So she went to the hospital while I was in class in college. The entire class we were watching a movie about Hurricane Katrina, and all I could think about was a little fetus trapped in a bloody little bag. I got out of class and was doing homework with my friends when I decided to text her to see what was going on.

She called me, crying. She had lost the baby.

I've been with her this evening and she's been going through a lot of cramps to push the placenta out but I think she just passed it. She's sound asleep now. No more pain, it looks like.
