Power Within

She sat there happy as could be
Under morning skies blue
Fire raging among clouds just above the mountains
On the edges of the day
She lay on the grass dying away
And she wished to give them life
With just a simple touch
But as soon as this thought came into her head
Death came into her memories
And she hung her head low
Put her face on the ground
Not wanting the clouds to witness
Such sudden onslaught of tears
The memories of her loved
Would never go away
How she couldn't have saved him
With just a touch
While he lay in that bed
Withering away
As she lay here crying
She didn't deserve to be happy
When he was so close to death
She let out a fierce scream
That ripped open the sky over those plains wide
And it started pouring rain
But in her despair
She did not know she did have power
